On November 13th, our Bargaining Committee, along with our USW Staff Representative, Charlene Crawford, met with CLP Management to continue working on Non-Economic subjects of bargaining. The progress on these proposals can be seen on our Bargaining Tracker. See our website, ulwclp.org, for ongoing updates.

The Bargaining Committee returned counters and revised language to Management on contract articles pertaining to the Grievance Procedure, Hours of Work, Job Descriptions, Health and Safety, and Union Business. Negotiations continued on the Attendance article, with much debate and counters offered on both sides. On several issues, the Bargaining Committee held our positions. Check out the Bargaining Tracker for more detail on all of our progress.

Our current contract has been set to expire on November 21st, 2025 since we ratified it. That date is fast approaching, and we have all had questions about what might happen once our agreement expires. Since negotiations are ongoing, and not concluding by the 21st, we and CLP have agreed to an extension of our current contract through December 31st, 2025. After that, the extension will continue to renew automatically, unless terminated by either CLP or the union, or unless a new successor agreement is ratified. This means that for at least the rest of 2025, while we negotiate, we will continue to work under our current collective bargaining agreement.

Our next bargaining session is scheduled virtually for Wednesday, 11/19. In the meantime, please share thoughts and questions with a CAT member, through Slack, or by emailing unitedlibraryworkers@gmail.

In solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee
